teacher of the bukvitsa
After the Valley of the Kings, we headed to the village of Shushenskoye, where I was lucky enough to meet a very interesting man who has a deep understanding of the Bukvitsa (the Alphabet). So deep, in fact, that he literally lives it. Had I ever before met anyone so obsessed with and devoted to an idea or body of knowledge? The man I met that day knows literally everything about the Alphabet. He was a man around 50, bearded, energetic, passionate, very active, fond of traveling and going to the mountains, and with a rather authoritarian character. He's the type of person who takes a leading role in conversation and always has something to say, no matter what the topic. For nearly 30 years, he has been gathering, bit by bit, all kinds of knowledge about what could be called the Russian or Slavic tradition, and he is also Irina's brother, and his name is Vladimir.
I was deeply impressed by the genuine interest with which he shared his knowledge – he told us a lot about Russian tradition and culture, about the alphabet, about the bukvitsa. At that time, this topic was new and completely unexplored for me, but it wasn't hard for me to see some similarities with the Scandinavian runes, which I had been interested in for quite a while. The principle here, I believe, is the same; the main difference lies in the content. In essence, both are symbols with a specific figurative meaning, which, as far as my knowledge in this area allows me to judge, is also characteristic of other ancient languages – Sanskrit and Hebrew.
The Alphabet, like the Scandinavian runes, is nothing more than a stencil, a descriptive database, a programming language, if you will. And in my opinion, the most valuable thing in this system is the order. By studying the bukvitsa, the learner first and foremost gains orderliness in the content of their own consciousness. Their thoughts cease to be chaotic; the thinking process begins to work coherently. Integrating the alphabet into one's life is a deep mental restructuring and gives a person great advantages in life. The most important thing is that he becomes, in the full sense of the word, orderly and reasonable. But for this, it is not enough to understand the bukvitsa – you need to live by these principles, embodying their meanings in all your actions. As Vladimir does. Each bukvitsa carries a sacred meaning. In total, we have 49 bukvitsa, and every Russian word is composed of them. And it is quite interesting to break words down into individual bukvitsa – the meanings of words reveal themselves from the most unexpected sides, and the understanding of these words becomes much deeper and broader than before.
Using the system proposed by Vladimir, Roma and I calculated our full names and dates of birth. And I found many similarities with what had previously been laid out for me in natal charts, Bazi, numerology, the runic tree, Kabbalah, and astropsychology. With all due respect to the systems listed, my opinion is that for a Russian person, it is the alphabet that is the most native and corresponding to his internal structure, and therefore it is understood by us intuitively and quickly, largely thanks to figurative thinking, which, according to some studies, predominates precisely in people with haplogroup R1A (a Y-chromosome group widespread in Eastern and Central Europe, Central and South Asia, and Southern Siberia). I don't know if haplogroup actually has any influence on our thinking and perception, since I haven't personally examined this phenomenon under a microscope, but there is definitely something to it. We talked until late at night, and for the entire remaining time of this short journey, I was digesting the information I received from Vladimir. I can say with complete conviction – since then, I have fallen in love with the Bukvitsa… ♥
