The Golitsyn Trail
My love for Crimea didn’t come right away. To be honest, I’m only just beginning to love Crimea. At first, this place seemed to me something incomprehensible, unkempt, with unreasonably high price tags on beach holidays and rental housing (and I still think it’s more sensible to fly somewhere to Thailand if you’re interested in the beach, the sea, the sun), a lack of decent mobile connection, coherent infrastructure, dilapidation, poverty, thuggery, a desire to... cheat :) your neighbor, because you yourself can barely make ends meet, and an absence of obvious signs that this is Russian territory, not 404.
Now this place is taking on completely different shades in my eyes. Such a small piece of land, and yet it holds so much! 🌍
Take, for example, the ecological route “Golitsyn Trail.” An amazing place — paths unlike one another, a stunning view opening from Cape Kapchik onto the sea, the ruins of an ancient cave monastery, dolphins leaping out of the water, foxes, a beach where I spent the night before setting off on my next hike with the tourism school, which will be the subject of my next post.
I wouldn’t have gone to the Golitsyn Trail if not for the project I started developing last December. It’s going to be a website that will display all the eco-trails of Russia (to begin with) with a convenient map, route characteristics, descriptions, and no fluff. In two months, everything should be ready. For now, I’m collecting materials, taking photos on location, personally visiting the routes, and organizing the team’s work with the aim of exceeding the plan and getting the job done as quickly as possible.
You can see photos from the walk in the album:

Enjoy the viewing.
I’m attaching a cover of Je T’aime performed by Anya Volshebnaya with her permission. It moved me, and maybe it will move you too.
Anya, wonderful performance!
Looking forward to new songs 💜
