all the same, mexico is not the safest country
All the same, Mexico is not the safest country. )) Before my next trip to another city, which happens today, I decided to lighten my backpack a little by leaving some of my less frequently used things with Irina, my local friend. I arrived at the meeting spot, walked up to her car, and then I needed to wait about half an hour until she was free and came out at the appointed time. It was hot, I left my bag by the rear wheel of her car and walked over to the store to buy water. I came back — the bag was gone. I took a stroll around the area hoping the thief was an idiot and wouldn't bother hiding much — no result. Which isn't surprising. )) I've heard that thievery is highly developed in this country, but for some reason I never doubted that I could get robbed here. I must have been too lulled by the feeling of complete safety over these 3 months I've been here. Perhaps from now on I should be a little more careful. But one good thing — now I don't have to think about old stuff anymore, one less problem. Losses have been following me since January. First my work laptop breaks, mice broke 3 or 4 times, the new computer I bought here broke and I had to fix it. The fun is in full swing. But I'm staying optimistic and learning not to get attached to things. Things are just things.
